Pune Metro, run by Maha Metro, serves one of India's fastest-growing cities with a clean two-line network. The Purple Line runs north-south from PCMC in the industrial Pimpri-Chinchwad belt down through Shivajinagar to Swargate, dipping underground through the historic core. The Aqua Line runs east-west from Vanaz in Kothrud across the river through Deccan and Pune Railway Station out to Ramwadi. The two cross at District Court (formerly Civil Court), a cross-platform interchange that will become an even bigger hub as the upcoming Hinjewadi IT-corridor line joins the network.
